Transitioning from modeling to movies isn’t easy, a lot of models in the past few years, have tried to do movies believing that it’s easier to stay in front of the camera, rather than doing photoshoots and strutting their stuff on the catwalk…WRONG!

Abbey Lee is one of the few models, who can proudly say that she is becoming an actress, in the fashion industry she has been called for years the next big thing, starring in multiple campaigns exclusively for Chanel and Gucci.

She has been a catwalk sensation from 2008 for all of the major designers such as : Anna sui, Versace, Fendi, Alexander Wang and many others, she had tons of editorials in all of the major publications: Vogue Australia with her multiple covers, W magazine, V magazine, Interview and Numero (i don’t even want to start counting on her commercial gigs and campaigns).

A model who isn’t afraid to speak her mind this is Abbey Lee Kershaw, during her career she has always expressed the desire of doing something else besides modelling, in her interviews she has stated that modeling is fun for a certain amount of time, but that it can also bring you easily to depression and stress, always afraid of the newcomers, always afraid for jobs that can or can’t be confirmed, and that u feel like a doll that has been used over and over again.

At 29, her turning point in her career was a casting for the movie mad max fury road, and that was the start of her career.

Abbey felt in the right place in the right time and happy to act and to express emotions and feelings that modelling doesn’t allow to.

After her first experience, the australian supermodel has made an impact in the movie industry appearing in Gods od Egypt and now in the new movie The Neon Demon. Appeared for the first time at Cannes film Festival.

Ironically she was chosen to portray a model, Sarah, alongside with mini movie star Elle Fanning, Neon Demon is about modeling industry, the brutality of it and how can this industry be excessive and rude, but in a second in this psycological thriller, an industry full of young women who are willing to do everything they can to stay beautiful and in shape.

A new movie star is born?

For me, Abbey was a star from the minute i saw her and still is, good luck to her and her movie career,

But as a fashion addicted i’m gonna always miss her platinum days and her spectacular editorials.
